Wonderland Avenue "Journeyman / Primo Deluxe"

Out Now on Whoop Records

Wonderland Avenue are Jim Browski and Harvey Dawson, and arrive on Whoop! post-Trisco, a project which spawned the massive 'Muzak' and it's follow-up 'Ultra'. However, the duo are no strangers to the label, having produced material as Spanish Fly for the imprint many moons ago. Needless to say, the boys have come home, and have brought quite frankly a corker of a single to boot, as 'Journeyman' seems to have exploded already with the across the board support it has received, causing quite a fuss indeed..

'Journeyman' is probably one of the dirtiest records to be released on Whoop! in sometime. A huge Giorgo Moroder style bassline plays host to driving percussion and an evocative yet gritty vocal that fights for supremacy against the no nonsense drums that rain down onto the groove, whilst intricate 80's style electronic melodies and synths bounce about freely deep in the heart of the track. Building up more and more, before a devastating drop and looped vocal take us back up, there is only one thing you need to know. This rocks, rolls and controls..

Time for something a little more subtle on the flipside, as 'Primo Deluxe', techno style bass and big electro riffs sitting on top of a simplistic beat led percussion groove. The melodies that rise and fall within sound like they were taken from an old skool electronic synth track and the warbling effect on the beats draw you in. Sublime, yet just as effect as it's a-side counterpart.

Without a doubt the biggest sounding single on Whoop! in many months, watch this fly off the shelves, and not just in Spain..
