Smokin’ Jo & Pete Gleadhall Present Los Vengadores  "The Music"

Out Now on Whoop Records

A new addition to the Whoop! family for this release, as the legendary Smokin Jo teams up with Pete Gleadhall (one half of Future Acoustics and Tom Stephan's studio engineer) for a single as Los Vengadores. 'The Music' has already built some buzz on the White Isle during the Summer of '03, with Pete Tong getting behind the track with some big radio support. But is it all about the music? Let's find out..

The duo's 'Original Mix' starts off with some synth effects, sounding like a machine processing instructions. As the beat patterns bounce off the groove, we soon find ourselves in a solid groove that takes no prisoners. As the beats pick up pace, a male vocal rises between each layer of beats, before a small chorus paves the way for a chunky drum led main section. Fading out for a final vocal solo, the beats pick straight back up, with this tribal stomper guaranteed to stomp a hole in the dancefloor. Dirty chunky grooves for the late night sets.

Pete Gleadhall flies solo on the 'Tech Dub', taking a dubbed out route as opposed to the chunky vibe of the original. Phased synths compliment the tight drum programming and subtle effects fill in the gaps to keep the pace shifting at a steady rhythm, Fading down, the vocal enters in, before some cut up drops build right back into the groove. Whilst not as powerful as the original, this is a nice little set builder in it's own right.

A decent offering from Los Vengadores, which will be well received with those of you who still like your darker sounds. Twisted, gritty stuff from Whoop!
