Chris Fraser "Flashpoint"

Out Now on Release Records

Australian DJ and producer Chris Fraser (aka DJ Chris Fresh) has been a staple in the dance scene down under for over a decade, as not only a dj, but a promoter and journalist too. Having turned his hand to production, he created singles for such respected Australian imprints as Vicious Vinyl and EQ Grey, where his track 'Lights Out' as North Atlantic remains one of the label's finest moments to date, even though it was it's debut release. He's been busy creating a range of new material, and somehow 'Flashpoint' found it's way across to the land of Northern Lights, Canada, where Release Records subsequently snapped it up.

Trendroid have been fairly quiet throughout 2003, so this rare remix by them is nice to see occur. As you might expect, this is a big room chunky number that has become a trademark sound for Trendroid. However, this mix has awesome drum programming with a killer vocal hook to boot, and atmospheric fills and big electro stabs seal the deal. Another full on pounding remix from the dancefloor friendly doctors, which you wont have to call them in morning after dropping as it gets just the reaction they intend.

Chris's 'Original Mix' ventures down a more techy progressive route, with a no nonsense driving groove leading the way. Techy stabs filter across the top, with a big shimmering melodic hook rising up and over the top as the track twists and turns frantically, unrelenting all the way to the end. Peaktime madness from down under, and something you'll be into if you love the twisted sounds of a DJ like John Digweed.

Another strong remix by Trendroid adds much to this single, with the pumping progressive original sure to go down a storm for those who like their house a little more hypnotic and driving.
