Yunus Guvenen "Red Pilot / Ways Of Life"

Out Now on Silver Planet Recordings

Yunus Guvenen started out producing on Fire Recordings, before embarking into the Mavi project on Regress, which has given us tracks such as The Dream and Precious. In early 2002 he joined the Silver Planet roster and hasn't looked back since, with this release 'Red Pilot/Ways Of Life' being his second single for the label, following on from 'IP True/Kaiser'.

Red Pilot starts off slowly, a tripped out rolling bassline intertwining itself with layers of deep synth percussion which slowly build and build, gaining prominence all the time before some eerie atmospherics creep their way into track, tugging at your soul, as the airplane comes crashing down overhead, and as the track descends into the break you can almost imagine the voices crying out before being silenced the airplane sample fades into nothing. Another outstanding production, continuing Yunus's fine form.

Ways Of Life is rather different, tight drum snares fusing with filtered synths creating an old skool sounding trance vibe, hooks ricocheting off each other as the dreamy synth line oozes through subtly, navigating the direction of the track with precision before a dark male vox sample pushes the track off in a more powerful direction. Pure hands in the air deep trance.

With Sasha already playing further new material by Yunus, as well as new material from his Mavi project and a remix of Lustral's Everytime looming on the horizon, Yunus continues to etch a name for himself as one of Istanbul's hottest exports.
