Paris & Healey "Under Pressure / Groove Addiction"

Out Now on Plastic Fantastic

Luis Paris works at Plastic Fantastic, as well as produces under the guise of Innervision and with Martin Sharp as Paris and Sharp. Tim Healey has previously worked with the excellent Electric Tease. The two met up, got together in the studio and the results can be heard on this, their debut release as collective. Let's take a look at the fruits of their labour.

Under Pressure is a deep percussive affair, with obscure vocal effects about light and sounds rising from within the sounds on occassion, the soundscape becoming more twisted as the track progresses, building up until the main vocal kicks in. Unfortunately this track doesn't really appeal to me and there's far too much going on at times. I am not sure how this would work in a set, but X-Press 2 seem to be playing it.. make of that what you will.

The flipside track Groove Addiction is on a funkier tip, building synth lines and groovy hooks come together to create a lovely electro vibed number that rolls along, rising and falling with reckless abandon as you find yourself being drawn into the groove. Addictive? Hell yes.

This newly formed partnership will soon be leading their collective experience to a remix of the forthcoming Fluke comeback single 'Pulse', watch out for it soon.
