Out Now on Teknology Records

Bill Hamel has been busy as of late, having worked with BT on material for his forthcoming album as well as signing exciting new artists to both Sunkissed and Teknology. One of the the artists of course that has been releasing material on Bill's labels is Simon Noble, who has previously worked with Bill as Mezz on the tracks Cubism, The Desert, and more recently, No Way Out. Now the second part of the story comes in the shape of some new mixes of the latter mentioned track.

First up Bill's own reinterpretation.takes the original and takes it apart, slipping in some driving percussion, complete with a large dose of tight beats, trippy synth lines and sweeping effects which wash smoothly over the groove. As atmospherics ebb their way from the background to the foreground the emotive vocal is unleashed and the track really starts to rock. A stunning slice of crossover progressive house.

Noel Sanger's mix goes off into the depth over on the flip, deepness being the name of the game here as pulsating grooves, rising percussion and subtle kickdrum stabs interchange with dissected vocals. As we enter the spooky break, the vocal is let loose amongst the darkness. Moodiness is evident in vast amounts here, but it doesnt really live up to the a-side mix.

Another chapter in the Mezz saga, and no doubt we will be hearing more of this duo's work in the months to come. In the meantime watch out for Bill's remixes of Lamb's tracks Gorecki and Gabriel, and Simon Noble's forthcoming single on Sunkissed, Closing In.
