Lula "The DJ The Music And Me"

Out Now on Hooj Choons

Having circulated on a John Creamer promotional cdr and on Peter Rauhofer's Star 69 label in NYC, Lula - The DJ, The Music and Me, has now landed in the UK thanks to Hooj, who as always have comissioned a new set of remixes to go with the original.

Featuring the vocals of Lula, and co-produced by Messrs Creamer and K, 'The DJ, The Music and Me' is a heavily tribal influenced progressive cut all wrapped together with the trademark production of that ever active NYC production duo. Whilst a decent track, its nothing that groundbreaking however, but in true Hooj tradition its the remixes that gain attention. Peace Division take the driving production factor up a notch or six, delivering a monster of a remix that blows the original clean out of the water.

Meanwhile, differentGear deliver their own trademark deep interpretation, without alienating the tribal heads in the scene and Force Mass Motion, aka superb producer Mike Wells delivers a acidic tech trance revision to round off the package.

Whilst not on the same quality level as other recent Hooj releases, this is still worth checking out due to the superb set of remixes on offer, but if you are expecting something innovative then you best look elsewhere.
