Liquideyes "Blackout"

Out Now on Navigation Records

Navigation is a new imprint set up by a DJ by the name of Stewart Keenan, and for the first release he brings to us a track by an artist named Liquideyes, in the form of Blackout. For the remix he has enlisted new duo on the block Wrecked Angle so let's see if this is a heavy shaker or as light as feather.. read on..

Tough snare stabs battle against a synth arrangement over a dark and twisted groove as the Original Mix begins. Twisting and turning it's way forward, the track sinks into a minimal atmospheric break before spacial effects ooze their way from the background filling the gaps in the track and adding some extra punch to the track. Not quite filthy but sinisterly spooky.

The remix comes from hot new duo Wrecked Angle. Steve Gerrard and Russell Peace put their heads together and come up with a rough drum influenced breaks monster, echo effected beats complimenting the snares perfectly as a minimal percussion line runs underneath, as the boys get all experimetnal in the break before unleashing a furious set of beats upon us in the final section of the track. A terrific debut remix from this duo to watch.

For a first release on a new imprint, this certainly impresses and Navigation will have their work cut out in following on from this essential cut. Could this be one of the new breaks imprints of the future?
