Good Pedestrians "The Moments"

Out Now on 19 Box Recordings

19 Box Recordings is a label based in Japan, and run by DJ19 who was recently a guest on John Digweed's KissFM show. You may have heard one of their releases yet not been aware of the fact as their release Transcendtral Station - Mothership was on Bedrock 2.

First up is the Marino Beradi mix of The Moments. Starting with an atmospheric effect which leads a nice rattling riff and dubby percussion, you wonder what is going to happen next, then synths start rattling and and the main effect fades and raises in the background. As the effect grows louder, the pace becomes faster before a panning analogue synth rolls across the soundscape momentarily, as the track continues, rising as the percussion fades once more and the atmospherics rise to the surface once more.

Turn Around on the other hand is based around a dubby beat rhythm in the intro as a squlechy effect warbles beneath the surface, then a deep sweeping soundscape rises to the foreground getting louder and louder and taking over the track, attacking at your senses before relenting and continuing on its journey.

Two deep atmospheric cuts out of Japan, but sadly this release fails to capture me, but if you want something different to try out, then this is a good place to start out.
