Asylum Seekers "Eastern Asylum / Computer Teknology"

Out Now on Three Records

Asylum Seekers are Turkish DJ Murat Uncuoglu and producer Aytek Kurt who have produced on other labels as Organica, Noctophobia and many other aliases. Now they team up with Craig Belford, who has previously had involvement with RIP Records and DJs all over the globe. As the Asylum Seekers they deliver two house cuts for our delicatation.

Eastern Asylum is tough paced slice of house that rolls along from the intro, synths firing off in the background, rattling snares pushing the track forward before the main beat kicks in. From here we are teased with melodic riffs that emerge from the sounds behind the bassline, rising and falling from the foreground with subtle precision, fading into a dreamy house groove with breathy vocal samples whispering away, big melodic synths leading us into an ethnic influenced break before continuing on it's way introducing more layers of melody as the track draws to a close.

Computer Teknology couldn't be further way in terms of style, a much harder driving affair with it's use of drum patterns and devastating stab effects, offset by electronic vocal samples that build the track into a large analogue break before continuing right on. Powerful arrangements, but nothing really innovative when compared to Eastern Asylum.

Three Records continue to offer a decent alternative to it's sibling label 3 Beat, and with releases previously having come from the excellent Source Of Gravity, we can only hope for more sublime house cuts from Andy Jarrod's latest project.
