Viton & Stel "Wooden Swordz (Remixes)"

Out Now on Audio Therapy

Stel, having emerged at the start of 2004 and subsequently having made appearances on numerous labels, has come to regard Audiotherapy as somewhat of a spiritual home, and it's here he appears once more, teaming up with Viton, one of his homeland's biggest DJs for a collaboration called 'Wooden Swordz', a track that has already got those in the know seeking it for some time, and now comes in the form of some excellent remixes from some of Greece's finest.

The 'Kosmas Epsilon Mix' has already found favour with numerous DJs, with Sasha in particular giving it some heavy support. The trademark rolling bass and bit crushing beat arrangements are predominant, as Kosmas creates a really tripped out groove that is incredibly mind warping, and as the main guitar hook cuts through the zoned out sounds that are created, just watch this mix come to life in a massive way, as Kosmas once again highlights why he he is always seemingly miles head of his native peers.

The 'JDK Mix' on the flip comes from 'Jose Zamora & Dousk'. Both producers have already been making waves within the music scene, over the last few months and their collaborative work to date has been excellent. Here they turn in a tough, atmospheric breakbeat interpretation of 'Wooden Swordz' that fuses sweeping melodies and rugged beats together seamlessly, with enough of a contrast between uplifting sounds and driving bass to ensure it sets the floor on fire.

An interesting project to kick off 2005 for Stel, which brings the attention to some of the best talent Greece has to offer at the same time. Audiotherapy continue to show commitment to developing new talent, and you can be sure they will bring us more from Stel very very soon.
