"Intuition EP"

Out Now on Within Records

Within Records is a challenging label. They push the envelope of deep sounds and have a great roster of artists like Deep Space Organisms, Aural Imbalance, and Monothy. Within’s seventh release is a monster of lush sound. Six different songs blended with beautiful sounds, textures and grooves.

Deep Space Organisms new track 'Theta' is a lovely start to this EP. Warm swirling sounds fall into little clicks and beeps, backed with a watery smooth atmosphere. Light layers start building with echoes and movement. A large bass comes in and moves the song along. The drums are slow and intricate. This is a very mellow tune, with a lot of depth and sounds.

Monothy and Jahk Bass are up next with an amazing blend of sounds on 'Stone Wardrobe'. Blankets of ambient synths start in. Layers of liquid sounds shift together. The faint drums start to build in. A heavy bassline climbs in. A breakbeat kicks back in, and escapes in lucid sound till the end.

'Sunset In Muratawa' by Taevalaoutus is a dreamy escape into India. Hand drums are the backdrop of this tune. A flute sound comes over the top as the drums kick in with a light house beat. Slow rotating sounds with tons of flange open up into a beautiful woman’s voice. A dramatic and loud tone comes in and crashes back into the drums.

Morphetech and Darren Apps lay down 'Music' with Aural Imbalance remixing this lush song and turning it into a gorgeous gliding number. A mellow electro tinged break beat comes in. It starts building, while a sample of a voice provokes a synth that moves thorough different melodies and harmonies. A low rumbling bassline sits underneath and fades into a dreamy breakdown. This is an incredible song with a huge mood.

Aural Imbalance teams up with Scamp to deliver a dreamy textured song called 'Ambitronical'. Static drums start in, filtered and rusty. Electronic sounds creep in with an old school vibe and create the background. Slow drums kick in. The sub bass walks through the deep sounds, which float on top and fall into a smooth break. A blissful tune.

The final song for this EP is Aural Imbalance once again. 'Osmosis' starts in with a fuzzed out kick. A rhythm is laid on top, with nice fills and changes. A crazy acid sound comes in, and takes the song into a thick orchestra of sound. Chord progressions come alive and create a dramatic groove. The bassline is funky, with a bit of drive. 'Osmosis' is a beautiful uptempo tune, which builds into a nice groove with loads of mental sounds.

Within Records have been going from strength to strength with their releases. The ‘Intuition EP’ is just another beautiful piece of work by many talented artists, and showcases just how deep this label is prepared to go
