"Farewell EP"

Out Now on SOG Chrome

Over the years, the SOG group of labels has prided itself on delivering tracks from some of the lesser known and up and coming production talent from around the globe. Long before the days of Myspace profiles and indeed the digital era, label boss Greed always made a commitment to bringing the music of these individuals to the forefront, with each vinyl accompanied by remix from himself or a more established artist. Now several years on and some things have changed - whilst some things haven't. The ominously titled 'Farewell EP' brings both sides of that idea together.

Endershagen's 'Tematec Night' is the first track of the EP - a somewhat disjointed piece of music that contains elements of progressive, electro and tech house into one hybrid mass. It's unconstrained direction is distinctly European - think of some of the material released on Combined Forces back in it's hey day, and for those who like to take their sets that little bit deeper - this will no doubt appeal.

The second track to be featured is Mal Black & Dee Leviense' 'Diversion', almost immediately establishing it's presence as the dominant track on the EP. A rippling snare line and lifting strings push forward this big room progressive house track, and whilst some may see it as a bit of a throwback to the end of the 90's - there's not enough music these days that dares to stick to it's guns instead of leaping on whatever the trendy bandwagon is - and SOG stay true to their roots here.

Quite what the 'Farewell' of the title refers to remains to be seen. Whatever it may be, SOG's history over the years has brought some great music - a fact that will be highlighted as none other than Nick Muir is set to revisit and reinterpret some of the back catalogue for an upcoming project due for release in the near future.
