Subzero "Nightmare"

Out Now on White Label

Subzero is another name to watch for. His real name is Peter Woodward and he is also involved with the White Label Euphoria competition run by Lynx and Plastic Fantastic. This is another cool and trippy one sided promo, which has been called an "excellent musical composition married to highly developed drum programming'.

A warm pad sound comes on over the track, as the drums pulse, and ride. The drums are very distinct, and upfront in the mix. They are thunderous, and breaky but have a mellow feeling in them, sort of like they are floating, and bouncing. The highhats come in, as do some rolling crashes. Claps come in over the top, as a nice electro sound comes in and moves upwards and downwards. A high tone comes in, and is followed by small flirty sounds. A quirky arpeggiator takes over the tune, and get's wrapped up inside the drums. Its very percussive, and holds strong until a rolling sound comes in and takes us out till the end. A lovely tune.

I hope that we see more material from Peter Woodward. His Subzero guise is similar to the sounds of Deep Space Organisms, but definitely his own style. This is another song that could possibly find its way onto the 'White Label Euphoria' compilation, with the production showing much promise and class.
