Seth Vogt Feat Sam Mollison "The Unknown"

Out Now on Sunkissed Records

Seth Vogt is one of the latest names to join the Sunkissed roster, coming from projects for labels including Atlantic, M-Toxin and Depth Records, as well as a remix for rnb crooner Craig David. 'The Unknown' has already been a mainstay in the sets of Satoshi Tomiie ever since his KissFM set in July 2002, and since then Seth has reworked the track himself, providing the remix for this 12". which now many months later arrives for your listening pleasure

Simon Noble dons his 'Redbak' disguise for the first mix on this 12", weaving deep beats in and out of a rocking groove as Sam Mollison's unmistakable vocals float with precision across the top. Atmospheric effects swirl underneath the beats, filling the gaps as Sam's vocals take control, dropping back into the beats as the track heads into the break. Sweeping effects rise from the dark unknown, as the darkness takes over in form of twisted beats, the vocal entering for one finale before the beats grind to a halt.

Seth Vogt himself reworks the track for the remix on the b-side, reworking the original into a nu skool breaks interepretation. Electro style synths pulsate across rippling beats that rise and fall as sub bass effects float underneath. Strings compliment Sam's rough vocals, lifting them to the surface of the track where they lead into an emotive vocal solo before the beats kick back in, bobbing against the spacial groove that sits deep within the heart of the track and dispersing as we get nearer to the end.

A slight diversification from previous releases as Sunkissed embrace breaks for Seth's mix, but that only adds to the variety of this 12", with the Redbak Mix being another well produced number from Simon Noble, topping off a rather tight 12". As the 30th release looms, one wonders what they have planned for the coming months.
