S & V "Freekin Me"

Out Now on Kinky Vinyl

Long time house heads will undoubtedly remember Stretch & Vern. With the huge hit 'I'm Alive' stuck in the minds of mine, this duo's path since has been largely incognito, under guises such as Phender and Reflect, with Stretch involved in the hit projects Coloursound (who could forget the track 'Come Fly With Me') and also Paradise Soul, his collaboration with Mike Monday. Now Stretch & Vern return, simply known as S&V, with a cool new track called 'Freekin Me'.

Throw on the 'Original Mix' and you'll be treated to subliminal grooves, sun drenched melodies, both underpinned by a funky bassline and an awesome bluesy vocal provided by Alan Clark. Slide in some hazy beats and linear melodies and you have all the elements of a summer house classic in the making, as this long established duo pull out all the stops to deliver something cool and addictive.

Meanwhile, the 'Paradise Soul Mix' toughen things up, keeping the summer vibe intact, but within the confines of an awesome acid tinged breakbeat mix. The groove is absolutely infectious and the old school bassline delivers a potent kick where it matters, making this an excellent mix for those more upbeat sets, and of the caliber we've come to expect from the Paradise Soul camp, thanks in part to their excellent track record with their singles to date.

Once again Kinky Vinyl redefines itself, the label refusing to be pigeonholed to one idea or sound, and it's this forward thinking ethos that has seen the label's profile steadily climb since it's launch only a few years ago.
