Omid 16B "Rock-Et"

Out Now on Sexonwax Recordings

The last release from Sex On Wax titled 'That Look' also involved Omid 16B, and to be quite honest it was one of the sexiest house tracks I came across in 2005. 'Rock-Et' is not to be compared to that track in any way, as it takes a much different direction, and displays Omid's ability to effortlessly switch from style to style. With the dancefloor in mind, we sit back and let the master take us for a ride with his latest.

If house is what rocks your boat, then this is a track which you really should be keeping close at hand for your gigs. The swirling atmosphere rises up fast with some heavily filtered effects building up strong anticipation. This peaks as the track breaks things down, and the melody takes on a true sense of complexity as some tight chordal progression shines through.

The flipside is the same as the Extended Mix, but a couple minutes shorter. I perhaps would have preferred to see something a little more creative for the B-Side, but the track itself is great so this doesn't detract much from the release as a whole.

I've followed Omid's journey through the scene right back from the early days when I was first getting into electronic music, and it has been quite amazing seeing him change over the years. But one thing which has not changed is the consistent level of quality we can expect from his tracks. A true credit to a very talented producer.
