N.D.S.A. "Break Even"

Out Now on Vsual Recordings

N.D.S.A. return with their latest single 'Break Even', following on from the debut 'Or What EP' which was released at the tail end of 2002. Much like that single, this fuses techy elements with tough grooves and big basslines, but read on to find out more..

A delayed synth riff and rippling b-line form the nucleus of the 'Original Mix', a driving groove fusing them together as the track builds momemntum. Atmospheric effects and large stabs simmer within the track as it slows down during the break before descending into a downward spiral of cut up loops and drums towards the eerie outro in trademark NDSA fashion.

The 'Deep Space Mix' meanwhile, builds itself around a moody sub bassline that emits an outer wordly effect throughout the mix. Slow beats and a rolling percussion draw out the sounds within. A quirky radio-esque vocal flutters throughout as electronic synths slide over the groove, lifting to an break which echos like a black hole in space, the sounds fading to outro combusting like stars in the dark of space.

Sixth release for Vsual, delivering something a little different once again, but whilst showcasing some fresh ideas, the b-side in particular is perhaps a little too deep for the prog market, but otherwise it's a tight little release worth checking out.
