Murph "Electric House"

Out Now on Reticent Recordings

Murph first came to the scene with a great track called 'Dark Symphony'. It was a track that generated a lot of hype and was featured on several compilations by DJs such as Sandra Collins, Max Graham and Jerry Bonham. After doing a remix for Niche Records, he's onto his second release called 'Electric House'. A groovy Detroit influenced tune with a remix by Steelyard Records champion, Dave Wood.

Dave Wood also known as Avid, as one half of Origin, as well as Knights Groove and lays down a sweet mix full of warm chord stabs, quick change ups, and a groovy bassline. A nice ambient intro builds from the chords takes you away into the beats. A kick drum eases in, along with various other drums and high hats creating a shuffling groove off the bassline. Dark stabs intermix with the warm chords balancing the drive of the song out. A smooth ride through many transitions, trippy sounds, and weird beeps takes us to the end of this tune.

'Reticent' is on the flip and his own '2.5 Years Deep Mix' starts with crunchy drums that build straight away. High hats lay into the kick perfectly with a bit of swing. Soft pads wash over the tune once we drop into a chuggy bassline. Sparkling sounds flutter in the background with a slight melody, which offsets the dark vibe of the tune perfectly. Layers of voice samples chime in with a smooth tone, as the break happens and throws us into a heady break beat and then building back into the house beats.

'Electric House' is a great first release for Reticent Records. A smooth and warm track that should appeal to many people from tech house heads to the deepest progressive enthusiasts.
