Monkz "Bass N Shit / Soapless Soap"

Out Now on Plastic Fantastic

Monkz are back with their second single for Plastic Fantastic. Their track 'Canga Urania' was played by some of the biggest names, including John Digweed and Anthony Pappa, and this next single will do the same. Shootie, DJ Supacurtis, and Gulu all have music in their backgrounds and came from various styles and places, but connect to produce some great tech house, tribal and chunky progressive music. 'Bass 'N' Shit' and 'Soapless Soap' are both big room tunes with some tribal, some funk, and some special grooves.

'Bass 'N' Shit' is a funky, slightly disco flavored tune. Twinkles fall into a breakbeat that gets us started, and warms up quickly into a house beat. 70's styled wah wah guitar licks sit perfectly with some funky horns, delayed hits, and gritty electro sounds. A light ethereal voice sample comes in as we drop into a break. A slight rest while the sounds coreless with each other and then the break beat comes back in building into a funky frenzy of old school sounds.

'Soapless Soap' is a gnarly bassline driven monster. Delayed vocal samples and percussive synth lines drive the song along with its clubby beats. Sounds wrapped in effects travel along to a complete change up. The bassline turns into a thick pulsing rush with tribal tendencies and more delays and effects. A driving tune that will destroy floors with its quick turns and clubby beats.

Monkz have turned out another set of quality tracks on Plastic Fantastic. A great start to a new year.
