MOS "Elektrify"

Out Now on Pissed Off Recordings

Yet another label emerges, this time from Spain, and with a name like Pissed Off Recordings you could say it stands out in the crowd somewhat. Founded by a young Argentinean producer by the name of Manuel Sofia, the first few releases have been receiving some heavy support from Hernan Cattaneo over the course of the last few months, and Manuel's own 'Elektrify' just happens to be the debut release.

The 'Original Mix' is a dark, driving slab of quality progressive house with a twisted groove providing the canvas for some excellent production. Be it the subtle but effective sub bassline, the pumping beats that carry the track forward or the eerie bells that cut through the layered sounds, rising to the top in spine tingling fashion and what we have here is one well thought out track that for a debut release is very impressive indeed.

'Subsky' is on hand to provide support a cool alternative mix. Opting for a more laid back approach, the onus is placed on the solid grooves and percussive rhythms that are intertwined, but as the momentum begins to build, a switch in tempo reveals the inner secrets of this mix with a big melodic hook rolling it's way to the forefront of the mix, giving it a tougher, more dancefloor friendly edge.

All in all, a great start for young MOS and his label, though if all the forthcoming releases are of this caliber, then he will have no reason to be pissed off whatsoever.
