Leon Roberts "In The Hole (Remixes)"

Leon Roberts is back with the second installment of his 'In The Hole' package. Since it's initial release Leon has been busy, working with Desyn Masiello on several projects as well as teaming with his brother Matthew for the forthcoming Ubu single, 'Ride The Snake'. This package of remixes come from Poland's Wawa and Josh Wink returns once more for another outing. Need I say more??

Up first is the 'Wawa Mix', which seems them take 'In The Hole' to deeper waters, sliding in a bassline which rolls along in dark fashion, layered riffs building the mood and intensity up. whilst the groove takes us in the opposite direction, and somewhere in the centre the chimes start ringing, before all the clocks strike the hour and on we go once more as the riffs rise high over the soundscape adding a sinister edge to the outro, but maintaining that deliciously devastating vibe it has forged throughout.

'Josh Wink' returns on the flipside with the original remix of he track he did, which is a nice compliment to the 'interpretation' he did on the original 12". Here he keeps the percussion low and tight, the occasional acid stab rippling the groove as it pushes on. Warm chords slip in between the percussion line as the pace rolls along gaining speed, and it is here the acid master deals his trump card, adding the final touch to another superb Wink mix.

A welcome package of mixes for this superb track, and no doubt it will be right back in many record boxes to cause more damage. Will yours be one of them?
