Kenny Shifter "Dirty Little Self (Disc One)"

Out Now on Baroque Records

Lee Kenny has previously recorded several singles for Fluid Recordings, as well as having involvement in the most recent Space Manoeuvres track, 'Pluto Disko'. As Kenny Shifter, he has perfected his sound via his Fluid releases and teachings from Evolution, but now makes a giant leap forward for his latest single, 'Dirty Little Self'.

Kenny's 'Original Vocal Mix' is a deep electro tinged house affair. A low rumbling bassline sits under layers of atmospheric beats which pound and smash against the groove, building into the main vocal section of the track which lets all it's grungey angst edged emotion be felt with no restraint whatsoever. Check out the break where the rock-esque riffs splinter the beats and bring us into the full on finale. Welcome to the world of 'rock prog'.

Following on from Kenny's remix as part of his recent Crazy Lady EP, Andy Moor returns the favour to one of his fellow Midlands natives with the 'Dirty Little Dub'. Stripping back the pace of the original and adding some slow, heavy bass in underneath the ballsy beat percussion which pushes forwad amidst glorious deep melodies and analogue effects. Andy top notch production oozes out of every pore of this mix, and there's another yet to come on the remix disc, so hold tight!!

Something different from the norm, but this single shows much promise for Lee's future. Check this out, and watch out for a disc of remixes to follow soon.
