Jimmy Van M Feat 16 Bit Lolitas "Stereo Control"

Out Now on Monofleur Records

Oliver Lieb's newest Monofluer is a fantastic offshoot to his other label, the techno based Maschine. The first release comes from legendary DJ and businessman Jimmy Van M and the very talented 16 Bit Lolitas. A huge collaboration effort that is funked up and groovy, with bass that will make even the heaviest of feet, move like crazy.

'Stereo Control' is the first of the two tracks on the single, and is a peak time tech-a-thon anthem. Heavy techy percussion lays the groundwork, while slight twinkly notes flutter in the background cleverly hiding and peaking out at the right times. The percussion builds with layers of high hats and a pounding breaky kick before dropping into a massive throaty bassline. This is bass you feel. It's massive. The techy layers blend in perfectly keeping the groove throughout the tune, stomping away even as it dips and drops off inside a mental break.

On the flip, 'Bassis' as you'd think, is all about the bass. A masterful house tune filled with funk and grooves in all the right places. The fat bass grooves along as the beats build behind it. A fantastic chug sets in while swirling and spiralling air sounds fly over top allowing staccato key stabs to fall down into the beats creating an even funkier sound. Trippy synths fill in the background, riding the groove, before a short stop up that opens up to a massive guitar riff that been distorted and sounds just like a synth. The keys fill in the space once again, while the bass drops and the beats float to the end.

Jimmy Van M and the 16 Bit Lolitas make a fantastic combination in the studio. 'Stereo Control' and 'Bassis' make up a brilliant first release on Oliver's Monofluer label and the second release which is the long anticipated 'Destiny' by the 16 Bit Lolitas will follow soon.
