Jarrod & Gilbey "Monkey Trousers"

Out Now on Musiq Records

It's been a considerable amount of time since we last saw Andy Jarrod and Barry Gilbey get together in the studio, but after several tracks that emerged during the early days of Choo Choo, namely 'Deliverance' and 'Venom', these two friends come full circle with this new single 'Monkey Trousers' Both having carved their own niche in the scene over the last few years, Jarrod as a DJ and managing director of 3Beat's highly respected label management company, and Gilbey as a producer, live artist and label owner, 'Monkey Trousers' is without a doubt their most accomplished work yet.

The 'Original Mix' takes us through Eastern influenced realms, a chunky rolling house track with a big room edge. However rather than regurgitate a style that has been done to death, Jarrod & Gilbey ensure the focus is kept on the rocking groove, weaving in hypnotic tribal rhythms and and heavy bass to turn this dark and mystical track into a massive club bomb that almost rivals the ancient city of Teotihuacan in terms of vastness.

'Chab' is on hand to provide the remix, and takes 'Monkey Trousers' down into the ancient ruins as he reconstructs it from the foundations up. From it's laid back opening, it steadily builds, using the same big room atmospherics as the original but keeping the tempo at a constant and reclined pace so the groove can really do it's thing, and that it does as this awesome dubbed out mix sees a return to form for this highly respected producer.

Without a doubt the biggest release thus far on this label, as Jarrod & Gilbey prove that whilst time and the scene as a whole as moved on, their ability to make quality music for the dancefloor remains.
