Insight "Prophecy (Innate and Moor Mixes)"

Out Now on Sunkissed Records

Insight's 'Prophecy' was the inaugural release on Bill Hamel's Sunkissed imprint way back in 1996. Now seven years later and 30 releases on, it has been brought back to life courtesy of a two part remix package. This first disc of mixes sees Innate and Andy Moor turn out a rare pair of remixes, paying homage to this classic which features Sam Mollison. The results are rather good indeed.

The duo's 'Main Mix' goes straight for the jugular, with it's big driving percussion and rippling bass action forming a deep yet powerful groove for the shenanigans to unfold on. Moving forward, the track builds with great use of loops and synths which, keeping the pace fairly upbeat, allowing the main riff of the track to gradually edge it's way in, paving the way for that unmistaken voice of Sam Mollison which leads us into the melodic piano break in brilliant fashion, and subsequently into the outro. And they said progressive is dead. In that case, this mix must be living in the afterlife..

Following on, the 'Innate and Moor Dub' goes down the more chunky route, with added dub sensibilities, pulsating bass, and that wicked melody line all coming together to create a splendid alternative mix which is a wicked little number in itself.

Both mixes are well produced, and have that x factor that make them work on the dancefloor. I don't need to say much more other than this does the business, and for those who disagree, watch out for the other mixes coming to you soon..
