Glamour To Kill "In Your Eyes"

Spanish duo Glamour To Kill make a debut on SOG Liquid with their cheeky interpretation of Kylie's "In Your Eyes". Their interesting fusion of rock elements with electronic elements certainly has a different feel to it, and will definately divide the critics.

Filtered electric guitars are thrown down in amongst some driving percussion and a tight bassline on the Original Mix. Swirling effects take up residency in the higher levels of the composition, and a surefire dancefloor mood is created. The heavily cheeky (and heavily accented!) vocal gives the track a dirty feel, and without making the vocal the primary focus of the track, which results in an overall tight production.

Things are stripped right back to the ground in the Dub Mix by Greed, with our electric guitars being pushed down to the lower levels of the composition. Some new effects are introduced, and the vocal does not make as much of an appearance. However, with this new style created, when the vocal does come in, at times it feels out of place, unlike the original where it fit perfectly. Those who were not fond of the dirty feel of the Original may find they prefer this version.

A very different release for SOG Liquid, and will definately not be a track which can be reccomended to just anybody. Being a fan of diversity, this will be in my box for some time to come, but those who stick to a particular sound could find this release offensive in some ways. If you're after something which strays away from the norm, then make this your next track to check out.
