Gareth Emery Presents Runaway "Outrageous"

Out Now on Baroque Records

As 2007 continues to zoom by, the releases on Baroque Records keep coming strong, and the latest release marks the debut release on the label for acclaimed producer Gareth Emery. Based in Southampton, England, Gareth's career started out under the name of GTR, with the track 'Mistral' gaining the attention of many of the leading trance DJs such as Paul Van Dyk and Tiesto. Since then he's been touring the world as a DJ, and diversifying his sound, leading to the release of this latest single 'Outrageous'.

Gareth's original version is a superb progressive house and trance hybrid, a smooth fusion of rolling beats and emotive key synths, underpinned by subtle bass and tempo changes which carry the track forward. Cut up loops and delays change things up leading into the peak of the track, via a cool stripped back drop which is extremely effective at creating a reaction on the dancefloor.

Shiloh's "interpretation" was created for their Elements compilation and is included on this single in it's unmixed form. Not straying too far from the template of the original, the Moreh brothers slightly tweak the beats and melodies, giving them more depth and a bigger resonance which results in a deeper, more potent remix for those tougher sets.

Gareth Emery's Baroque debut is an excellent release, and whilst it may be a slight departure from the sound championed by recent releases on Baroque, its a great club 12" that Emery fans and music junkies alike will enjoy.
