Funk Harmony Park "My Truth (Disc One)"

Out Now on Fade Records

The debut release from Icelandic quartet Funk Harmony Park makes its mark on Chris Fortier's Fade Records. With an impressively diverse collection of mixes spanning 2 discs, the overall versatility of the track is very high, and there is sure to be something for everybody.

Underground legend Manny Berenguel steps up to provide the first mix under his Paranoid Jack guise. The housey beat sets up a strong groove early on in the mix. The driving bassline is complimented by some electro effects, and these work to set a very positive mood. The melody takes a back seat in the composition, but this subtlely by no means that it does not make its presence known. A tight mix to throw down earlier in the night.

Next up, Marky Star takes a break from the Omni A.M. outfit to go solo on this remix. Laid back is the key term here, and this mix pulls the mood without becoming boring in any way. Vocals have been ripped up and filtered and make their appearance around the mid ranges of the composition. Whilst not breaking any new ground here, this would suit the mood of a lounge or cafe quite well.

Finally, the Original Mix takes us on a much darker journey than the rest of the mixes provided here. Boasting a tough electro fueled bassline, some near muted vocals are scattered throughout the composition, adding to the futuristic feel of the track. As the melody makes its presence known, overlying synths prevent the track from veering into an overly dark mood. This is a sure late night floorfiller.

A solid debut from Funk Harmony Park, and with each mix provided in this release taking the track in its own direction, it is sure to have widespread appeal. Part Two boasts an even stronger remix collection, so fans of this release are well advised to check out the second disc.
