Flash Brothers "The Flight"

Out Now on Silver Planet Recordings

The Flash Brothers are the latest additions to the Silver Planet roster, having recently remixed Rhythm Unlimited's 'Reflections'. To follow that up, they have licensed 3 limited edition singles to the label to tie in with the label's half century celebrations (that's the 50th release for those who need it explained). First up is 'The Flight', a one sided epic progressive cut which is cut from the same cloth as some of the trio's more melodic work, which is by no means a bad thing.

As the track gets off to a start, you may think this is going to dark and chugging, but that's not quite the truth, as the tribal rhythms soon give way to deep melodic stabs which take the track off on a more epic, upbeat direction. Swirling atmospheric waves lend a big room vibe to the groove and cool filtered effects and sounds top off the dark and mysterious mood of the overall production. If you enjoyed 'Hazy March', then this will please you just as much.

Be sure to pick up this if uplifting progressive grooves are what floats your boat, and be sure to keep an eye out for the other two thirds of the trilogy in the coming months, as well as the special 50th release which will feature remixes of some Silver Planet tracks from yesteryear. The only gripe however with this single is that it could quite easily have come with a remix or another track, and therefore is perhaps the best value for money, but you pays your dollah and you makes your choice. It's upto you.
