Electric Mood Feat Melanie S "Sacred Dance"

Out Now on Yoshitoshi Recordings

That Kid Chris comes to Yoshitoshi for his debut production on the label disguised as Electric Mood. This cut is hot on the heels of his smashing remix of Alcatraz’s “Give Me Luv” on Yoshi’s celebrated 100th release. “Sacred Dance” sexy tribal feel is certainly getting it’s fair share of exposure as it was used in Chris’ KISS 100 mix, Deep Dish’s latest Global Underground Toronto, and Progressive-Sounds’ own Sound Bytes brought to you by Chloe.

Sacred Dance is delivered in two forms as YR101, namely the “Vocal Mix” and the “Electro Dub.” The vocal mix as you would expect is brightened with the vocal talents of Melanie S. Melanie’s angelic vocals are layered over a subtle melody and light, driving percussion. With “Sacred Dance”, Melanie delivers a huge, memorable hook, “I feel it…I, I feel it” that will keep you feeling it for days to come. The hook is surrounded by a clever ambience effect that brings a hint of emotional depth to this massive hit. It has certainly been a staple in the Deep Dish crate and will be in mine for months to come.

The Electro Dub sneaks its way in with an electro infused flair. It stays minimal and light throughout the track and strays quite a bit from the original vocal mix by dropping any hint of the melody. The vocals are very lightly and pushed thru a vocoder which should appeal to those wishing keep a darker feel in a set.

Yoshitoshi, now with three labels under its belt (Yoshitoshi, Shinichi, and Yo) are on a release rampage. Expect massive tracks from Blackwatch, Behrouz & Andy Caldwell and rumor has it Yoshi will release Deepsky’s newest single with remixes by Burufunk and The Sunday Club.
