Dousk "Street Talk"

Out Now on Groovecollection Records Black

Greek house producer Dousk should need no introduction to anyone who pays this site regular visits. An in demand remixer who also happens to have a full artists album to his name the excellent "D.I.Y." Dousk has also found time in between to release a string of E.P’s for various labels, the likes of Bedrock, Vapour, Klik and on this occasion groove collection records.

"Street Talk" is a funky acid style floor shaker that also fuses together house elements. The chunky acid riff is the focal point and the heart of the tune pushing it forwards. The house elements then find their way into the track filling the mix nicely. At the mid way point, things break cleverly, just for a moment allowing you to catch your breath. Then all the elements in unison fire up together hitting you with their wave like effect producing a hands in the air climax to the track.

Holland’s Bart Van Wissen sprinkles the track with his classy Dutch house production style. Nice mellow pads start his mix off, a chunky bass line and house stab joining in soon after. The main riff arrives next interacting nicely with the house parts. These elements form the basis of the mix and it’s all left for them to groove along very nicely for the remainder of the track.

Australian Matt Rowan in my opinion saves the best until last! He toughens the groove up and grabs Dousk’s riff and works it majestically. He uses the original tracks anthemic ending as the basis for his driving remix. The productions impeccable, overall reminding me of some of Matthew Dekay’s best offerings!

Overall this is a very strong package! If you like your house happy, any of these mixes will be sure to brighten up your day!
