Dave From Dallas "Come To Me Baby"

Out Now on Yo Recordings

Not much is known about Dave From Dallas other then this is one heavy hitting record. Showing up in Anthony Pappa’s sets, as well as the mighty Deep Dish, you can expect some dirty quality in this tune. We get two different renditions of the track. One more on the tribal tip called “Darth Dallas” mix and the other is a darker called the “Darth Dave” mix.

The ‘Darth Dave’ mix starts out with tribal drumming, and a nice kick. A wavy sound comes in. The atmosphere is very dark and desolate. A tone comes in and sounds as if its falling off the earth. Twisted sounds go in and out, and move along a a single tone. This is a very anxious tune and really would destroy a dancefloor.

The ‘Darth Dallas’ hits us with a heavy drum that starts us up. Thunderous sounds crash in. A sample starts to weave in with the drums. She’s nice, and muffled at first, but comes through saying “Come To Me Baby” over and over again. It’s very hypnotic, and goes to the break. The tribal darkness is underneath. It’s aggressive, and hard. A low tone comes in, and works off the beat to create a bit more percussion. Another high hat comes in, as well as some other intricacies. It drives along, as a high sound starts to pull, and pull, creating a stressful sound. Everything pops and we lay in to the beats again, which take us till the end.

A good release for Yoshitoshi’s new imprint YO. Based on massive floor killers, this is definitely a new way of stomping around. Dave From Dallas does a great job keeping things dirty and dark.
