Chris Domingo "One Sound (Remixes)"

Out Now on Teknology Records

Following on from the first disc of 'One Sound' comes this extra disc of mixes, with Thomas Penton turning in the second of his two mixes, alongside another of Florida's sons, Atnarko. Both take the original and turn it two dancefloor stormers, as you'll find out..

Atnarko, who has previously released material on Fade turns in his own rework, taking things deeper with use of dark stabs and a rough sub bass groove. A rolling loop lends a sinister feel to the track, almost sounding like a caged animal trying to break free, but the mood soon changes as lush synths sweep across the groove, and the rest of the mix rapidly evolves in time with the beats, with the now hypnotic groove keeping hold of you right till the end. Quirky yet enticing stuff!

Thomas Penton's second mix of the package, the 'Slider Mix' sees him keep the pace of his other mix, but rework it slightly, with use of hi-hats and soft kickdrums that draw the melody right out as atmospheric sounds pepper the backdrop. Each time the melodic riff hits it's peak, it takes you up a level, creating an upbeat vibe that will have the floor moving and kept interested as the sounds ooze from the speakers. Once again, another well produced mix that is a contrast to the Atnarko mix, and should make this disc of mixes really stand out to a dj looking for a versatile 12" to fit in the back of their box.

In comparison to the first 12", this remix disc wins in terms of appeal, and will no doubt find it's way into the box of many djs. Thomas Penton has to be credited for his superb work on making this release stand out though.
