SAW Recordings is proud to release “My Memory” by the highly-touted producer, Chab. With six tracks appearing on the Global Underground mix series, Chab has often been labeled as the “Global Underground Producer.” “My Memory” is currently on the decks of the world’s most up front DJs and was featured on Sander Kleinenberg’s “Everybody.”

Chab shows his propensity for the funk with “My Memory (Mix 2)”. This mix is narrated in male raga vocals but has been accented by female samples. I really enjoy how Chab drives the narration into a mesmerizing vocal loop. This mix maintains a dark funk flavor throughout its eight minutes of sound, only relenting towards the end where Chab lets the track drop off to minimal elements. With that, “Mix 2” ends almost exactly where it began.

On the flipside, Chab hits us with a drastically different take on the “My Memory” theme. With the “Romanian Edit,” he lays it on a deeper and more emotional soundscape. (“Magical, Massive! People are gonna cry.” – Tom Fournakas) With a deep driving bass line and epic string work, Chab has given the “Romanian Edit” a beautiful essence. This one is quite stunning.

Chab has a large collection of originals but has also been heard through his remix talents as he has remixed Murk, Nelly Furtado, Weekend Players and PQM among others. SAW recognized talent when they signed Chab for “My Memory.” As always, SAW delivers.
