Brahma Feat Jillian Kiggins "Peaks Of Destiny"

Out Now on Toes In The Sand Recordings

Michael Lanning and Chris Conner, who form Brahma, lay down their second release for Toes In The Sand. 'Peaks Of Destiny' is a smooth progressive number with waves of pads and breaky house beats, featuring the lovely vocals of Australian newcomer Jillian Kiggins. Naveen G beefs up the bass with a monster remix full of effects and stretched vocals; a perfect way to start off disc one of this two-disc set.

The 'Original Mix' is a washy progressive tune with loads of rolled out synths and liquid grooves. Layers of wave sounds start in along with a snappy drumbeat with shakers and a bit of fuzz. The warm bassline moves underneath taking the song deep into all the beautiful lush pads. Jillian Kiggins' voice moves into the forefront sweeping and dreaming over the sounds. A perfect watery groove takes us along a deep ride through her voice and the layers of warm pads and finishes with golden touch of drumming.

'Naveen G', who has had releases on Chug Records and Jon Lisle's imprint M Theory, reworks 'Peaks Of Destiny' into a breaky 4/4 mix with stretched vocals and a massive bassline. An ambient synth intro starts in along with delayed drums and gradually works into a shuffling beat. Dropping down into a minimal break, the vocal comes in along with a huge bassline that moves up keys building a heavy wall of sound. Jillian's voice has been stretched and treated with some lovely effects and plays off the bouncy beats perfectly. Some added percussive stabs in the background, keeps the tune moving while a tiny bell jingle rings in adding a different twist from the original version.

'Peaks Of Destiny' is a lovely tune with a great warm up feel. The sounds work well together and ride along Jillian's sweet voice. Naveen really changes the tune up, adding loads of bass and effects.
