Blake Jarrell "Destin Beach"

Out Now on Release Grooves

Here at Progressive Sounds our hearts go out to Blake Jarrell, being based out of New Orleans, we can only pray that things return to their norm as soon as possible. Destin Beach is one tough track indeed, and with none other than legend of the darkness Harry Lemon brought in for the remix, we have yet another solid release for Release Grooves.

Mr Lemon takes us down the 4/4 road, and brings along some heavy percussion and throbbing bass stabs for the trip. The refreshing and uplifting atmosphere of the original is still present, and is showcased in particular beauty during an amazing breakdown. The driving elements can almost guarantee that this will be causing some peak time havoc across all corners of the globe, and as we can expect from Lemon, an overall solid interpretation.

The Original Mix sets its primary focus on contrasting blissful atmosphere with heavy breakbeats, and even as it may sound to be a strange combination, it works to amazing effect. Our primary melody line is quite complex, and encounters many changes during its journey. The dark underlying beats keep things moving, and put this all together and we have what was for me the better of the two sides presented here.

Atmosphere is often what draws people to a track, and this release here is oozing with the stuff. In particular the Original Mix will find widespread appeal amongst both fans of breakbeats and fans of lush atmospheric soundscapes. Jarrell has most certainly hit the mark here, and Release Grooves showcase yet another excellent release.
