Bjork "Pagan Poetry (Infusion Mix)"

Out Now on RR1000

Since Bjork made her appearence in the music industry with the album 'Debut' we have been graced with some great music including tracks such as 'Human Behaviour', 'Violently Happy', 'Play Dead' and 'All Is Full Of Love', all of which have been superbly remixed by the creme da la creme of the dance music industry, with the latter most recently being remixed by Salicious Crumb and Brancaccio & Aisher. However, there are several tracks of her's that have been criminally overlooked, but are equally as good as those already mentioned. One of those tracks is 'Pagan Poetry', which was one of the singles taken from the 2001 album 'Vespertine'. Austrlian trio Infusion obviously noticed the potential in this track, and have reworked it in their own unique way, with their results making their way onto this 12".

All the usual Infusion production goodness is evident here. The subtle ambience, the layered chords and melodies that all come together to form a hypnotic house groove that sits underneath Bjork's unmistakable vocals. Subtle strings twinkle in the backdrop as the momentum slowly evolves, building in pace, creating an oddly captivating moodiness that compliments Bjork's vocal perfectly. Building subtly into the vocal solo, the track drops straight back out into it's tight groove with Bjork's varying vocal tone controlling the flow and power of the track with epic results. Not something you would think possible to work on a dancefloor but having seen the results this track produces on the floor first hand, I can tell you it holds it's own as well as any other 'big tracks' in a set.

For the RR1000 imprint this is linked with, it's a bit of a coup to have on the imprint, and is probably the best of these limited 12"' singles yet, following on from releases by Rockwell and Sublime. Don't spend to long contemplating over whether to snap a copy up because there's only 1000 worldwide and once they're gone that's it. Miss it, miss out.
