Benz & MD Vs Ebrius "Sound 84"

Aurium Recordings is the brainchild of Benz & MD, who hail from beautiful Ontario, Canada. Their first release ´Oneric´ proved their talent in production, and ´Sound 84´ sees them challenging themselves once again, as their longtime friend David ´Ebrius´ Strauss tags along and adds flavor to their progressive stunner, while Subsky provides support on remix duties.

´Sound 84´ is a light sparkling progressive tune with lush layers and a sweet arpeggiated rhythm that swims in a deep bassline. Toms and high hats build into the twinkling sounds, followed closely by a kick and a quick snap. Layers of pads wash in and follow the bassline to a break. The bassline builds out of the break into the main part of the song, moving with the pads and spacey sounds that surround it. This is a lush tune that should work well at the end of the evening.

´Subsky´ has taken ´Sound 84´ and turned it into a gorgeous melodic deep piece. Drums start building as floaty layers move in and build into a peak, then crash down into a deep bassline. The arpeggiated twinkles have a nice solid rhythm that builds and plays off some sassy tones as we drift off and stay in a hypnotic groove. Dreamy synths lay over the beats and wash us away into a lush break. Subsky added some groove into this already emotional tune.

Benz & MD´s Aurium Recordings is going from strength to strength with these early releases, and with a forthcoming release from Blue Haze as well as the much touted Delikate Imposters, it looks as though this is set to continue.
