Arvin Ajamian "Roller Rink"

Out Now on Premier Sounds

Arvin Ajamian may be a name you're not too familier with. He is a dj out in New York City, and has been lucky to open for the likes of Hybrid, and Saeed and Palash. He's already had a release on Exun Records, and has seen praise from Sasha for his own remix of "Wavy Gravy". 'Roller Rink' has a very summer type sound and will definitely become an anthem in Ibiza.

The 'Original' mix comes in with some laser type sounds, moving inside some drums. A piece of wood is used as a hit too, which is different for most dance songs. A disco type filtered voice makes it's way in. The voice is the main hook of the song, and is used nicely. Building off that, some nice sweeping synths start to come in. The drums drop off giving the sweeps main exposure, swirling around, and then falling back into the beats. The bassline rumbles underneath. It's a groovy bassline, that makes subtle changes as it goes. During the breaks the sweeping synths come into their own. They move around, as a thunderous plop hits down into the the lush middle, opening everything up once again. This tune is meant for those moments on the beach, when the sun starts to come up, and you're still deep inside the rhythm.

The 'Rink Remix' is Arvin's own remix. It's a bit more tribal, and takes a few different elements as the focus. Bird chirping sounds start us off. Some layers of percussion start to build, as the hook teases us. A nice bubbly stab pokes it's way in, pushing the sounds further. High hats float on top, as we start into a deep, sinister groove. The sounds are all very bouncy, but this is definitely made for a deeper dance floor.

A really strong release for both Arvin, and Premier Sounds. Really nice lush sounds, accompanying tight production skills, make this a must listen to tune.
