Andro "Space"

Out Now on Nascent Recordings

Andro hails from Hungary, where he has developed his own unique sound on the Planetarium label, and later on Sumsonic sub-label Mechanism. His latest release however comes on Nascent Recordings, who seem to be on the up with the amount of new material forthcoming, and with support for this release coming from djs including Chris Fortier and Sasha to name but others, it would seem that the label have a winner on their hands.

Andro's 'Original Mix' is what you would call a chugger, it's analogue style drum loops and beat patterns creating a deep, rolling groove which forms the nucleus of the track. Claps and shaker effects shudder as things progress, leading into a driving section where a subtle melody line introduces itself amidst swirling, spacial atmospheric sweeps, a hint of darkness complementing the big sounding beats perfectly, as space log vox fxs rise through the beats to the surface adding the final touch to this dark yet driving number from this hungarian producer.

The remix comes from new production duo 'Sterio and McGrath', who opt for a slower pace, but make greater use of the atmospheric effects and vocal samples present in the original. By fusing them with the drums and percussive groove, a whole new layer of sound is created, adding an upbeat and emotive slant to this remix, creating all the ingredients for a peak time melodic masterpiece, and when this beauty climaxes in a shower of gorgeous effects, just watch the dancefloor erupt.

Andro's original is not a bad track, but is overshadowed by the superb Chris Sterio and Steve McGrath mix. Just drop that mix and watch the floor spring into life. A duo to watch in the coming months for sure.
