ADF "Destination (Two Tonight)"

Out Now on Premier Sounds

Following on from Perc's own 'Morning / Closer' single, Premier Sounds return with from a trip across to the continent, where they picked up this track from Italian outfit ADF, who have previously released material on the label Serial Killer. 'Desination' is their latest offering, and Perc delivers the remix, which should make for a great package. Is that the case? Well let's find out, shall we?

Punchy snare led percussion cuts through the intro and into the main bassline of the 'Original Mix', wasting no time in letting it's presence be felt. Cut up vocal snippets slip out through the gaps, before the vocal dominates the track, upbeat and commanding, with a soulful edge that is perhaps a harsh contrast to the techno style bassline, but surprisingly they work very well together. Layers of funky effects add depth to the track as the vocal becomes warped, sitting atop an atmospheric break before kicking back into the rocking groove, sending shockwaves across the floor in the process.

When 'Perc' gets his hands on the track, he takes the pace up from the start, utilising big riffs and a tough rolling bassline to get the tempo where he wants it to be. Rattling percussion sends the track skyward as rising synths lend a big room feel to the mix, atmospheric sounds maintaining the spacious echoing void in which all the sounds erupt. As the vocal kicks in, the underlying sounds emit almost cinematic grandeur, giving a brief respite from the bassline which soon returns with a vengeance, as wave upon wave of rising hooks only add to the emotion of the vocal, creating a powerful big room techno / house crossover which will appeal right across the board.

Something slightly different from Premier, with two very different mixes that both appeal to a wide and varied listener base. This is the most well rounded and versatile release on the label to date, and with any luck, should do very well.
