Brancaccio & Aisher "Its Gonna Be...(A Lovely Day)"Forthcoming on Credence | 2/2/2018Luke Brancaccio And Bruce Aisher have been making waves since their first single was released in the year 2000 and their label Player One has mirrored their success, becoming one of the key players in the progressive scene, which is no mean feat considering not a week seems to go by when a label or sub label isnt launched. Lovely Day looks to be their biggest release yet. Initially causing a stir at the 2001 Winter Music Conference then via a handful of test pressings given to John Digweed, Sasha, Danny Tenaglia and Anthony Pappa, all of whom hammered the track at clubs and festivals all through the summer, causing this track to become highly sought after. There are a variety of mixes on offer, the Original Mix being the mix that everyone knows, and the main one that has been hammered in recent months, a driving house cut that pounds through the speakers, its deep rooted grooves and stabs screaming out behind that unmistakeable reverdvocal sample, which is lifted from C & C Music Factory´s track from many years ago, Soul System.. A funky mix designed to get you dancing, pausing momentarily before the main beat kicks back. A guaranteed dancefloor destroyer. Over on the flip those Italians Bini and Martini give their own interpretation, adding some melody to the main bassline, looping the main sample over and over leading into the percussive break, adding a female soul vocal on backing, letting the melody take centre stage then cutting up the bassline and reversing it on itself momentarily. A nice alternative mix. For those who wish to experiment, an acapella of the main vocal is included on the end of this 1st 12" Meanwhile, the second cut of plastic delivers a mix from John Digweed and Nick Muir otherwise known as the acclaimed production outfit Bedrock, who take things deeper, more minimal and very spacey in style, utilising very little of the vocal and creating what sounds like a blissed out deep house mix, perfect for building that set or for lowering the pace a few bpms. Backing this up Bini and Martini return with the Supa Bass Dub, which is a bass heavy percussion fuelled monster pitching up the atmospheric effects behind the teased vocal, and introducing some nice synth elements to great effect. No wonder this mix is the one currently finding favour with a lot of the top jocks. Whilst theres a nice set of mixes on offer here, one must feel that after the buzz the track had in the summer and early autumn the delay on releasing it to build on this has perhaps gone on too long and the more upfront music lovers are already looking elsewhere. Thats not to detract from this though, its a fun track that will hold many memories of the year for people, but unfortunately fun tracks dont make very good timeless ones. However the casual music lover could do a lot worse than to pick up this doublepack and in that instance, they should check it out. | Digg, Del.icio.us, Technorati, Blinklist, Furl, reddit Artist: Brancaccio & AisherTitle: Its Gonna Be...(A Lovely Day) Label: Credence By: Simon Jones | 5 December 2001 Tracklist:
