Pole Folder Feat Sandra Ferretti "Protected"

You will most probably have already heard about 'Protected' through Chloe's glowing words, and read about the remix disk (MODO 010) in her review. Here, you will read about the track that started it all, as well as the Madoka remix on the original 12" (MODO 009), the first single from Pole Folder in almost two years, and the official debut of Sandra Ferretti.

'Protected' is a beautiful track. I have almost no other words to describe it, but I do have some. It is lush, rich and full of moody emotion. The debate rages within me determining where this track is best heard. It would pour emotion on the dance floor or soothe through headphones. I am leaning towards preferring the latter. Strapping on the gear around your ears, shutting your eyes, and starting 'Protected' delivers a soul touching experience. Together, Pole Folder's solemn melodies and Sandra's soul grabbing performance ignite a passionate song. Sure the power behind the pulsing 4x4 beats pumping across dance floors would be great. It is just incredible on a set of headphones.

When Madoka injects his psyche into 'Protected', he delivers a hard hitting dance floor ballad. Madoka stays true to Pole Folder's intended essence but adds just the right hint of trance inducing samples and bass lines to drive the rhythm of the masses. Mark Venneri's creativity really shines through with his sample manipulations on Sandra's vocals, some of the best I have heard in fact, and whilst this remix is better suited on the floor as Madoka locks us into a groove, it still amasses to a brilliant head phone journey.

A stunning release from Mo-Do Records, and another work of art from one of Belgium's best producers, with the track only the beginning of his partership with Sandra Ferretti. A record that deserves a place in your collection without a doubt.
