Henry Saiz "This Howling World"Out Now on Paradigma MuzikLast year saw Henry Saiz deliver his debut for Renaissance while remixes of Bedrock´s ´Gridlock´ further enhanced his standing as a name to watch. He returns to Paradigma Musik with ‘This Howling World EP´. ´We Are All´ sets the ball rolling and seems to have an almost South American influence. It´s a deep house number brimming with melody thanks in no part to a haunting string melody and deep, floaty synth pads. Other modulated synth lines and FX all add to the mix nicely to deliver an emotion filled journey in sound. ´Triumph of Delusion´ kicks off with more warped synth modulation and the sort of ripping, filthy sub bass line usually encountered in a drum and bass track. It´s a crazy beginning to a track that does an about face to deliver a trippy, melody filled journey that´s uplifting. It´s an eccentric track and reminds me of some BT´s earlier work where experimentalism took priority over dance floor convention. Of the three tracks on offer, this really left me feeling exhilarated on the first play. ´The Snakes Speech´ rounds the package off with a darker, more sinister sounding atmospheric tech house tune. It has an almost cinematic quality featuring a tight 303 line and a smoky sax melody. Other clever background FX add to its spookiness rounding the track off nicely and ending the EP with a spaced out finale. ‘This Howling World´ is a prime example of a release that covers sheer quality and value for moneys at the moment, if you like depth and diversity in your music. With a long term deal in the bag with Renaissance, Henry Saiz could well prove to be a very shrewd signing. | Digg, Del.icio.us, Technorati, Blinklist, Furl, reddit Artist: Henry SaizTitle: This Howling World Label: Paradigma Muzik By: Andrew Rowland | 1 March 2009 Tracklist:
